So, I just wanted to say hello to the women from around the world who visit this site.
I had a notion that some BGLH followers were international, but it was confirmed by a comment on my election post.
I think being a black woman is a unique global experience — no matter the country, we face similar challenges.
I am always encouraged to see Black women from any country find their voices in fashion or politics or education or religion or whatever. It speaks to me personally.
I am kind of an ethnic hybrid myself.
I grew up in Jamaica, my father is Haitian and my mother is African American (Detroit).
