HILARIOUSNESS: white dude uses relaxer to get ‘slicked back hair’

Uncategorized

I thought this was really funny! Thanks for sending it in Eliss!!
Perhaps relaxer companies can find a new market among white dudes and give black women a break from their incessant marketing.

My favorite line:
“So you put it in there, it burns the sh*t out of you.”

lmao! i know other white people (as i went to a majority white highschool) that used this. they had REALLY curly hair. it was considered bad. they wanted straight hair like all their friends. so they put the cremey crack on it. most of the time it looked horrible but hey power to them. i would also like to add, that this blog has prompted me to go natural! i love what you are doing & i love the positivity of it all.

I went to school with a white girl that had curlier hair than me! She fried it daily with a blowdriers and flat irons, and I used to suggest that she wear it curly, but she hated her natural curls. I actually wanted to suggest that she just relax it and get it over with…I was natural, but her hair just looked THAT bad.

i knew a chinese girl (yes, chinese girl) who relaxed her hair. her hair was very thick, kinky and very un-chinese looking, naturally, so she went and spent £400 to get it chemically straightened. i think she was gutted when the black girls in my class told her that a box of 'just for me' for £3! i also had a vietnamese friend do it on her travels around south-east asia, to give her hair more gloss and smoothness. the technology's there, it wa sonly a matter of time.

I haven't watched the video, but he's got to know what a relaxer is for. He's just being an a$$.

  13. Anonymous 7 September 2009 at 8:36 pm Permalink

Too funny, the warning on the box strongly advises white people to stay away from the product. Black women need to follow that warning too.

  14. Anonymous 7 September 2009 at 8:59 pm Permalink

Thank you Eurydice for catching that.

honestly i don't think this guy is a moron or trying to be offensive.

i just think he's found a creative way to slick back his hair.

but i agree jamie, someone needs to warn him about the dangers associated with heavy relaxing.

Yea I def dont think this video is "hilarious." The guy in the video is a moron and totally ignorant. I saw this video on mediatakeout and the first thing I did was shake my head. Just another white boy talking sh*t and speaking on "ethnic hair" and "ethnic kids," and the aisle that "you never go in." Please. If this guy was sitting next to you at work and saying everything he just said, many black people probably wouldn't think he was that funny. He sounds like a total moron. Lets not give him more glory and attention than his ignorant a** deserves!

LMAAAAAAAAAAAAOOO!!! this dude is PRICELESS. He speaks about people who want to let there hair point upwards (a la mohawk) and calls them a "complete ass", but he himself does This. LMAOhaahhaha. Then it gets better he intently reads how white ppl are not supposed 2 use it and acts like it's no big deal. Then checks himself out in the camera and plays with his muscles. Merciful Father, this guy is Ridiculous. Lord, hahahha, the word asinine as reached new highs I tell you!

I definitely think he's trying to be a bit of an ass lol. But his sarcasm is pretty funny… it makes the whole relaxing process seem so silly.

  21. Da Jadedpoet 8 September 2009 at 1:44 am Permalink

I laughed especially at the "how white people need to spend 75 dollars to do the same thing in a salon and don't tell your white friends LOL.

  22. Anonymous 8 September 2009 at 3:34 am Permalink

Wake up!this is not funny at all he's making fun of us(us being black people). if you go to his youtube page u can see that he's a jerk trying to make a sideway joke about black people. FYI did you peep the comment at the end about coco butter how is that funny.

  23. Krystal (aka Pirouette) 8 September 2009 at 2:53 pm Permalink

I thought the video was tongue-in-cheek and he was being satirical. Maybe I'm giving him too much credit there, but it was kind of funny.

  24. Ayomide 8 September 2009 at 6:45 pm Permalink

LOL, that was crazy funny. He is so macho using a $3 relaxer.I rolled when he said "ethnic children" what is a ethnic child ? I though we were african american or black when did people(white people) start saying ethnic meaning african american? Anyway, that was funny

Hey we go yuck, yucking and slapping our knees…

    This.is.not.that.funny.

If you step back from the "enemy relaxer" angle, he is making fun of all of us. Remember, all of us.

    Cocoa butter-elbows?????wake up people.

OMG… I'm minorly embarrassed by what that box says.

I'm dying over here of laughter..LMAO…LOL

This is one of the funniest things I have seen this year. Now, I don't believe that the things he was reading off the box were actually written on that box. That is very funny.

LOL @ "go to the aisle you never go on…You like wonder…What is hair mayonnaise, you know like, cocoa butter?…that aisle…"

His whole mannerism throughout the video is very funny.

Why don't they just use some hair gel for goodness sake?

I can tell this guy is a bit of a poser. I bet he has a beauty blog somewhere too…LOL

  28. BeautyHealthZoneBlog.com Editor 9 September 2009 at 12:19 am Permalink

Yes, I use cocoa butter on my elbows and knees to stop ashiness…big deal.

Black skin looks fresh and glowing as a result of cocoa butter, if other races have discovered it, good. Goodness knows I don't want to see some flaky skin when I am out and about.

The more people that know about cocoa butter, the better, I say.

Also, once I had a Russian girl ask me what conditioner she should use on her hair which she said was dry like straw from too much colouring. I told her to try some hair mayonnaise.

Just because it's in the ethnic section doesn't mean it's only for ethnic people.

I met a White woman once who told me she cooks jerk chicken…great!

  29. BeautyHealthZoneBlog.com Editor 9 September 2009 at 12:28 am Permalink

Besides, I met a Greek girl once who had very thick, coarse and wiry hair. This was about 9 years ago at a salon I used to attend.

The girl had tried a number of relaxers and the hair still would not straighten. She resorted to wearing bonded in weave as a result because she was fed up and did not know what to do with her hair.

I would say I have medium textured hair, not too soft and not too coarse. Now, I had never met a Black person that had the texture of hair this girl had. It was extremely thick, dry and wiry.

So, it is not strange to see a White person relaxing their hair, although to see a White man doing, it certainly looks odd to me.

So funny! How about the last time I went to get my hair cut with my lil natural self, I saw the store owner (a white male) next to me doing his hair. All of a sudden I smelt a relaxer and started looking around for the nearest black female and then realized it was him…Haha had me dyin!

This guy is totally hilarious. He's a frat boy. They are usually harmless and like to crack jokes. I do not think he was "making fun of us". I believe it was tongue in cheek and satirical too. I have to check out if that relaxer really says that. LMAO…..going to watch it again lol.

I think he's trying to be funny…but he just sounds like an idiot!

  33. Ms. Quetta 16 September 2009 at 9:15 pm Permalink

The fact that a white person uses a relaxer…not the funny part. I've heard of this before and I know of a lot of white women who have considered they're hair to be coarse and would use relaxers (such as Just for Me or Dark n' Lovely) to straighten their hair. However, I definitely think he was trying to be offensive when he made comments like, "you know, go on the isle you never go on and wonder what the hell is hair mayonaise and cocoa butter, you know, that isle." Or at the end when he says, "next time I'll tell you how to use mayonaise and cocoa butter for your elbows and knees." Or the fact that during the video, someone was laughing in the background. I do admit to taking a little offense to this and think he was trying to be a little funny. I can't bring myself to believe that the perm warnings actually said that…so I know he was trying to be offensive. Just my opinion though. (But not offended that he uses a relaxer…I found that part funny).

When he started reading the warning label I almost gave up, "White people need to pay $75 at a while people salon." He HAS to be kidding 'cause that BS is too silly to be believed.

Slightly amused and irritated by the video.

Why do people find this hillarious and why are people LMAO or shaking their head ? For what? This dude is doing what he feels will slick his hair at a cheaper price. This is how naturals are laughed at and teased but cause he is white lets have a good giggle??? No!!!! By doing that you are making it ok for us to be laughed at teased and riddiculed by non naturals and others. Leave him be just like we are left to be nappturals. My opinion :)
