    Wow girl!.Haitian/Jamaican/ American. I’m Haitian & love culture. I also love producing documentaries and I’m a journalist. Small world. Would u say the natural hair journey was hard with the career you have?

    @ Oldinem… I find that taking care of my hair gets harder as my job gets more stressful. And unfortunately my job is often very, very stressful.

    I understand. But I meant do you feel like you’re perceived as less professional or have to work harder to be taken seriously because your hair?

    @ Oldinem… Oh, lol!! Well no, I don’t think I was perceived as less professional. I will say that I didn’t feel the freedom to do a full on knot-out or twist-out at work. I don’t think it would have been appropriate. But I did buns and some half-up/half-down styles that were fine.

    Reporters are a motley-looking crew anyway. With all the running around there isn’t a ton of emphasis placed on neatness/stylishness. Especially in smaller cities/counties

    Well thats because you are fly!!! Btw Im expecting a baby girl in Feb2010 and Im naming her Leila. If it was a boy he would be Leim. I’m inlove with the name Leila for my little bun in the oven.

    @afroness… Awwww. My parents got my name from a friend of theirs in Haiti. I’m told the name has French and Arabic roots.

    @ Leila… I don’t know the french root of the Name, but I know in Arabic it means Black haired beauty. It is a beautiful name for a Diva.
