I was pleasantly surprised by this, beloved readers! My first try of the Aussie line left a sour taste in my mouth. This has given Aussie a fair shot in this little, golden lamb’s world.
I’m must say, I’m not enjoying the Barney-purple bottle.
I know it’s their signature…but I feel like belting out: “I LOVE YOU! YOU LOVE ME!” when I see it and that startles people who happen to be nearby. Or they begin to stand a bit too close me and give me “the eye”.
Awkward.
Back to topic: THIS IS AN AMAZING co-wash! In fact, it is so thick and creamy I feel like I’m WASTING it as a co-wash. Though…it makes for a luxurious co-wash for the exact same reasons.
The product itself is opaque white. A little boring, I know. It’s so creamy it’ll hang onto your palm for several seconds when turned over (it did for me). Rich, thick -amazing. It spreads easily, which is another plus. Beware of build up with this and shampoo/clarify/AVC rinse/what-have-you weekly if you co-wash with this daily or mulitple times a week.
Don’t expect much slip from this my dears (particularly coarser haired ladies, I know I prefer more slip than this gives)…but it WILL soften your hair and soothe your scalp. That said, beware of scalp build up…don’t massage it (or really any conventional conditioner) INTO your hair follicles. Fine haired ladies may find this a tad heavy.
I bought it on sale, for $3.00. It’s usual $4-6 price is a dollar over priced if you ask me, for using it as a co-wash.
I am all around impressed by this. I think it’s on level with Dove. Well…THIS one product is on the same level as SOME of Dove products. I have FAR more success with the various lines Dove makes.
All in all…a good conditioner for all textures.
My one caveat: It smells fruity. Thankfully, for me, it doesn’t survive the final rinse, so it’s not a big issue. I’m not a fan of fruit smells. However, if you like them (or don’t care ^_~), you’ll enjoy a creamy, light, mixed-fruit scent during your shower.
