I’m pretty certain Janet was always natural (right?) But here are photos of her new cut via MediaTakeOut.com
she looks totally adorable, loving it!

I think Janet Jackson has always been natural. At first I thought she had a texturizer in her hair, but the pictures of her as a child with an afro ponytail has a smooth looking texture. I really don’t know. However, Janet does look amazing with short hair. Her features are more defined. Go Janet!!!
I LOVE IT! She looks so cute!
These pictures look better than the others I saw. She looks beautiful whether short or long!
I absolutely love it! She has been texturized most of her life from what I read many times over but has always had a “sleek texture” even during the GoodTimes days!
I think she even looks more regal and slimer….she has always been beautiful and this cut definitely makes us all aware of it!
GAWJUS! This look is great for her. WORK JANET!
“That aint nothing but a S-curl.”
Why was this line from Coming To America the first thing I thought of after seeing these pictures? :) She looks cute though, regardless.
i think she looks fabulous. she wears it well!!
This story’s really doing the rounds huh? I was hoping it wouldn’t appear here because I’m tired of the debate over whether she is natural or not. Her hair looks processed but then I’ve never seen her hair ‘in the nude’ as they say.Though I saw a baby picture posted on a popular hair board that suggested it was her natural text. Maybe it is this curly, maybe it isnt’. I do think that when a celeb goes or is natural people have a lot to say but no one has anything much to say about the abundance of weave in showbiz or about how many celebs stay telling black hair magazines that it is all theirs when we all know different. Monique Coleman took a lot of isht for her freeform fro, Solange stays getting roasted for her BC yet traction alopecia on Hollyweird’s most ardent wig wearer’s is just collateral damage in the fight to be beautiful or some such nonsense.
I think she looks cool and takes years and weight off.
Is short hair so ungainly and unappealing to the black community? Many women and girls will not bc because of what society (mainly the black communities in which they live and work) will say about their natural hair, at that point not because of texture but because it is short. White girls chop it up, style to the hilt and rock a pixie or baldie and nobody cares but let a black girl/woman do it and people in most quarters have something to say and somehow give off the impression she has lost her femininity or beauty as if hair was the only thing that made her. I never liked 99.9 percent of Miss Jackson’s fake hair.
AHHHHHHHHH! I am already head over heels in love with Ms Jackson, but this sent me over the edge. ::swoon:: Her bone structure is out-of-this-world with the new haircut. loving it! it’s nice to see someone extremely mainstream rock the natural, even if it doesn’t last.
I think she looks lovely.
Janet looks gorgeous with the short hair. I like it.
Go, J.
OMG I want this cut fasssst! She looks so beautiful and once again Janet is giving me a style idea. When ahe did the Velvet Rope and had red hair I was about ten and I swore up and down that I would rock red hair like Janet as soon as my mom would let me lol. I am headed to the barber quick because her line up is so great and I was searching for a style sine im about the same length. She is just an eternal beauty.
I really love the short cut on Janet, regardless of whether or not it is 100% natural or not. In a sea of weaves and wigs, this is definitely an improvement. I have been waiting for Janet to figure out a way to reinvent herself. Maybe this is the start of something fresh and new for Ms. Jackson.
First off, most beautiful smile you will ever see on a person; she looks like Michael; and I like the short cut. Some people just have the face for a short cut, like Halle. Me… I dont.
she looks good BUT janet’s hair has always been relaxed, thats not natural, more than likely its texturized judgling from the curl in the back and the slickness of it. Her hair is no different than her brothers and sisters..
I think she looks striking with short hair, but I don’t think her hair is natural, I just think she slicked it back with some pomade. Nonetheless, I think she’s beautiful with this short cut.
I don’t think it’s ugly but i don’t think it’s natural her natural texture, i could be wrong though. i just wish she had her natural nose this fake one doesn’t look good the older she gets
I love it. Janet can do no wrong in my eyes.
Wow– I thought the post was about her hair and not her nose, Nikki. Obviously we naturals aren’t beyond hateration…
And I think all this speculation about what her natural texture is or isn’t is pretty ridiculous… based on some of the comments you would think the posters were Janet’s hairstylists… just sayin’ Can’t we comment on the style without invoking the “science” of hair typing… geez.
Why does it matter if her hair is natural or not? Bottom line, she looks fierce and this is definitely a bolder and fresher look for her! I hope she keeps sporting this short doo because it really suits her, about time she has decided to change it up a little! I’m tired of seeing everybody sporting long hair as if that’s the only thing that makes a woman feminine and beautiful. Love Miss Janet!
@v.c. and anon 12:14a.m. I was one of those who made the comment that I didn’t think she was natural and I’m not a natural nazi AT ALL. I think people are commenting that they don’t think her hair is natural because the post says “I’m pretty certain Janet was always natural (right?).” So it doesn’t really matter what her texture is, people are just answering a question.
I agree with Ibi it looks processed to me too. but it does look really good on her!
I cant recall Janet ever having short hair, it looks great on her. I want to go short again. but i’m to erratic with my hairstyles
