********************UPDATE**********************
So remember this gorgeous couple, and how I posted their photos (on May 26, 2010) but couldn’t find the bride for an interview? Well I found her, thanks to reader Crystal who tracked her down!! And here are her responses. Thanks so much Crystal! You’re awesome ;)
So what’s the story?
N: We met in 2003 at Norfolk State University. We were in the same Spanish class, and I ended up tutoring him. Tremaine and I were married on November 1, 2009, in Alexandria, VA. The reception was in Washington, DC.
It was an amazing day because I truly married the man of my dreams and best friend. It was also a nerve-racking day because we were initially supposed to get married outside, right on the Old Town Alexandria waterfront. The day before it was beautiful, and unseasonably warm for the end of October. Then, on the day of our wedding it rained – there was a 100% chance of rain – and it was freezing! I was very nervous about my hair, since I was wearing it out – I didn’t want it to shrink up too much.
How did you wear your hair?
N: I wore my hair out, loose, with a small bouffant or bump at the front. I definitely regret that decision – I wish I wore it up, I think it would’ve went with the dress and the veil a little more. I didn’t have much a a choice though – my stylist had pneumonia, and there was no one else in my party who really knows how to do natural hair.
What was your process of deciding how to style your hair?
N: I knew that I wanted to wear my hair with a bump in the front, but I also thought I would wear it out since my afro is my thing. It’s how I wear my hair most often, and I wanted to stay true to that.
How did your family/husband/guests receive your hair at the wedding?
N: I had some good comments about it afterward. I still feel like wearing it out versus pinned or braided up somehow was not a great decision, but at least I stayed natural. However, before the wedding there were definitely a few family members who thought I should straighten my hair for the big day.
Thanks so much for sharing with us Nicole :) Good luck to you and hubby!

So reader Mysskay sent me a photo via Twitter (thanks girl!) and I traced it to a photoset… and even though I don’t have a corresponding ‘natural brides’ interview (couldn’t find Nicole’s contact information) I just HAD to post these!

These photos were taken by Luke Eshleman Photography. Go HERE to see the rest.
And this might be a long shot… but if any of know this couple could you please email me? I’d love to do a proper ‘natural bride’ interview. The girl is Nicole, the guy is Tremaine and their wedding was in DC in November 2009.
