When did you and your husband meet?
J: I met my husband about 3 years ago in college, and we’ve been together ever since =) We got married May 1st 2010 at Longview Lake here in Kansas City, Missouri.
How was your big day?
J: It was, different. My biggest advice to anyone getting married? Forget all the hoopla in the end it’s you and him forever. That’s what our day was for us, the beginning of he and I forever.
How did you wear your hair?
J: I ended up wearing my hair in a vintage styled updo in keeping with our vintage themed wedding. The back was french braided up into a hump and the bangs pinned back.
What was your process of deciding how to style your hair?
J: I must have gone through YouTube video after video and couldn’t really find anything. At the time my hair was too short to go into a french roll so I ended up improvising with the french braid and I’m glad I did. It’s been a go to hair style since then.
How did your family/husband/guests receive your hair at the wedding?
J: My husband wanted me to wear my fro but I wasn’t having it, lol. He has always loved my natural hair so it wasn’t an issue of straightening it. It was more an issue of finding something that I could wear that actually showcased the fact that I was natural. Outside of he and I, I couldn’t cared less who thought what about anything. At this stage in my life if you don’t like how I choose to present myself you can kick rocks and go play in the street.
Is there a blog/webpage where we can find you?
