Where do you live?
N: I live in Hawthorne (California), but I rep Westwood, because thats where I go to school #UCLA!! :)
Why did you go natural?
N: Well I technically went natural 10 years ago, but I didnt really start taking care of my hair till about 5 years ago.
In what ways, if any, has going natural affected you?
N: When I really started my natural journey I was in high school, and people would mock tease and make fun of me all the time callin my dirty nappy, etc, but I maintained my hair, because I saw it as gorgeous, regardless of what people said.
How would you describe your hair?
N: Texture: It’s usually quite soft, it can get a little dry at times, but generally it’s lovely, and I love my curl pattern. Very tight curls.
Thickness: It’s very thick
Behavior: It’s very responsive and malleable, unless I get lazy and neglect it for a few days
What’s your regimen?
N: Co-wash with Tresemme Moisture Rich Conditioner
-Apply Cantu leave in repair treatment
-Apply my oil mixture: olive oil, coconut oil, lavender essential oil, rosemary essential oil, jojoba oil, or an oil mixture called : Gueye Mother Nature’s Best Fast Grow Oil
-Twist it up, or do some other protective style
What mistakes have you made with your hair that you’ve learned from?
N: A huge mistake I made was putting peroxide on my hair (regular peroxide) and it broke off a little hair in the back. Another mistake was putting my hair in tight pony tails all the time (that thins out the front of your hair)
What’s the best/most effective thing you do for your hair?
N: The most effective thing for my hair are the two strand twists, my hair grows soooooo quickly like that. I also take biotin sometimes (taking it too much messes up my skin).
Is there a blog/webpage where we can find you?
N: I don’t really have an active blog, butI will be starting a blogspot and a youtube channel too (I’ll keep you posted).
Anything else you want to add?
N: Natural hair is the best way to go. When I am not natural, I don’t feel like myself. Natural isn’t just a hairstyle, it’s a life style :)
