Okay… so she’s not rocking the fro like she did back in the day, but Chaka Khan is an eternal natural hair style icon. Reader Jessie P. brought to my attention that the 59-year-old R&B/funk goddess recently shed 60 pounds and is looking fierce! The above picture is Chaka Khan performing in Atlanta last month. The picture below is of Chaka Khan performing on Good Morning America in 2008.

While the gorgeous diva would look beautiful at any weight, according to reports she shed the pounds to get a handle on her high blood pressure and diabetes. And to end this post with some eye candy, here is Chaka Khan in all her vintage natural glory:

Ladies, what do you think of Chaka’s new look?

  1. She looks really good with the weight loss… she actually looks a little younger as well.

And as for her hair, most times when I watch old clips of her performing with Rufus it’s to look at her hair. Beautiful.

  4. Nicki & Chaka could be twins. Same cheekbones, smile, height… And Chaka looks great! I def support making the effort to be more in control of your health.

  8. I will never forget an interview I saw on CNN. The interviewer asked if anyone could every forget Whitney’s version of “I’m Every Woman. Valerie Simpson told him, hold on you treading on some dangerous ground there. That song was written for Chaka Khan. Effectively shut him up.
