Introduce yourself!
P: My name is Patricia. I am originally from Oberanbach, Germany. But I currently live in Virginia. I am a fashion merchandiser at a big retail company. I get to play with clothes all day, how fun!

How long have you been natural?
P: I have been natural all my life. I didn’t have the pressure of getting a relaxer growing up in Germany. Mostly because nobody even knew what a “perm” was.

How and why did you transition into natural hair?
P: Since I have always been natural I didn’t go through a big transitioning process, but ever since I graduated high school I have embraced my big curly hair a lot more!

What are your must-have products for shampooing, conditioning and styling your hair?
P: I use different products all the time, but I always stick with moisturizing shampoo (preferably something natural), and moisturizing conditioner. I can’t justify spending a lot on my conditioner, because of the amount of hair I have. I go through conditioner like it’s nothing. I stay far away from hair products with any kind of alcohol in them!

What is your signature hairstyle?
P: I usually just wear my hair out in a big poof. Or in a big bun on top of my head (quick and simple) but I’ve been wanting to try more protective styles. I just need to make the time!

Did going natural affect your style choices at all?
P: I think my natural hair and the way I dress coincide with each other. I like to be free and comfortable. I wear things that I like, and I don’t worry too much about the “trends” and I’m the same way with my hair.

How would you describe your personal style?
P: My personal style is just me! I like things that are big and flowy, but still feminine. Whatever I feel comfortable and stylish in, I’ll wear.

What are the three favorite things in your closet?
P: If you could see my closet you wouldn’t ask me to pick only three things…BUT since I have to I would say my oversized open sweater. I can just throw it over any outfit to pull it together. My jean jacket for the same reasons and my black booties, because they go with everything. They are comfortable and super cute!
