Nicki Minaj is one of the biggest wig aficionados in pop music today, but apparently she wants us to know that the wigs are optional, not necessary. Yesterday the rapper tweeted a photo of her hair being styled with the caption, “No chemicals. No perm.” The photo shows her hairdresser pulling a handful of long, healthy-looking straightened hair. A couple months ago Wendy Williams made a similar move when she posted a childhood picture of herself sporting long braids, and stated that she’d never had a perm.
While it’s encouraging that so many black female celebrities (including Lil Mama, Toya Carter and Angela Simmons) have healthy heads of un-chemicalized hair beneath their wigs and weaves, it would be nice to see their curls and coils in public every once in a while.

Why should we be surprised if it is her hair? Are black people incapable of growing their own? I’ve seen plenty of black women with long hair. The trick seems to be that they don’t burn the shit out of it with chemicals. It’s not an achievement, just don’t over-process it and it won’t break. Simple. If you want straight or bleached hair you’ve got to weigh that against how much you want healthy hair, of course. The choice is yours, but stop acting like anybody but you cares.

That’s what I say. How do we know this is her? I know our hair can grow down our backs, been there and done that. I would not be surprise if this is her hair, but we can’t really tell. This could be a picture of anyone. I would like more proof.
I mean, I know black people can grow long hair because me and my sisters have up to mid-back length hair (after a lot of care and work)

That her Hair.. Im Jamaican from tje caribbeans like her bit she is trini meaning from trinidad and they are West Indians so tjey have long indian hair. Even when there mixed with more black tjan indian they still have good length hair. black ppl jhair grows different but of u leave your hair natural for 2 years, braid (Cornroll) it and treat it every 2 weeks with hot oil treatment and hair Mayonnise, it will strengthen your hair and grow alot but it must be for minimal two years.

I don’t doubt that its her hair because its long. I doubt that its her hair because she is not showing her face. She shows her face in every picture she takes rather she is half naked, naked, or fully clothed. But when it comes to showing her real hair she can’t show her face? I ain’t with the bullSh*t.
i once had a black teacher who was half white, and she had the most beautiful hair. jet black, soft, and long with tight curls :) i remember she told us about how she regretted cutting in short in the past and how she’s been growing it out for YEARS and said “you know how long it takes for black people to grow hair?” i miss her so much :]

Nicki minaj is dumbing down women of our race, black women. Just like all of these other materialistic ghetto-fied rappers pretending to lead a life theyve never even experienced. Does anyone even know Lil wayne went to college ?! Nicki minaj has ALL THE MONEY IN THE WORLD to make her hair grow and stay like that. Of course it looks good. QUESTION , when was the last time these rappers did anything for our own community ?! They can buy millions on purses and clothes.. how about feeding your community.. the one you came from.

There’s nothing natural about her… she’s had a nose job, breast implants, may have butt implants, gets Botox, & where’s absurd makeup / wigs.

I would trade her gorgeous black hair for my sad blonde hair any day of the week. Why would anyone hide something so beautiful?
considering that Nicki is HALF-INDIAN (her father is an Indo-West Indian ma, hence her last name Miraj), it’s quite possible that her hair grows long, naturally. It might be thin or she’s just putting it under wigs to protect it.
If this really was her hair why not show her face? That can be another wig for all we know.
