So, it seems like every other day a black female celebrity takes to Twitter to show the real hair beneath their wigs and weaves. The latest is Lil Wayne’s ex-wife Toya Carter, who had some people scratching their heads with her recent reveal. While the back of her hair is back-length and of a curly/coily texture, the front is relaxed (or maybe heat-straightened?) and significantly shorter, perhaps to blend in with her weave. Toya was clearly proud of her strands, tweeting “#allmine” and “#longhairdontcare”. Click for the photo below. Ladies, what do you think of the reveal? And what do you think of the trend of black female celebrities tweeting “real hair” photos?

As others have said,it doesn’t look healthy at all. Some ppl r so obsessed with length they don’t care what form its in! I remember being that way as I grew up with a perm, as my hair broke off I was determined 2 not cut off the uneven, damaged ends bc length is what mattered in the black community. Even shorter haired women with poor thin hair u could see right through wouldn’t trim it bc they’d rather have horrible thin neck lenghth hair than trim it shorter. its this obsession with length that annoys me! Its a lifetime of learned bad behaviors that I now recognize. I’ve been guilty of it too and ive learned to cut unhealthy ends as needed and stop worrying if its BSL, MBL, WL or whatever acronym makes us feel special!
