Introduce yourself!
My name is Myzha, I am from New Orleans, Louisiana but I am currently in Hammond, Louisiana finishing my undergraduate degree in Kinesiology.

Why did you make the decision to go natural?
My natural journey happened as a bet. My friend and I wanted to see how long we could go without a relaxer. I did not take “being natural” seriously until I saw my friend’s natural hair blog and I gained the confidence to begin my journey. I made 2 years fully natural this May. I don’t count my transition time as me being “natural”. It’s been 2 years since the day I did my big chop.

How would you describe your texture?
My hair is extra thick, but very manageable. To be honest I am not exactly sure what my natural texture is. I think the back of my hair is more of a 4a while the top/front of my hair is a 3c. It really depends on the day and how my curls choose to act.

Describe your styling regimen over the course of the month.
My styling regimen is simple. I do not need a lot of products just because of my natural curl pattern. When I style my hair I either use Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie or Cantu Twist and Lock Gel to style. If I have run out of these two I use a raw shea butter, coconut oil mix that I make with clear Eco Styler Gel.

What does wash day look like for you?
My wash day consists of my staple routine. I do not like to use shampoo because no matter what I use I feel as if my hair is left stripped, but when I do need to clean my hair I use the Organix Moroccan Oil Shampoo. After I wash or co-wash my hair I choose my conditioner of choice and mix it with Extra Virgin Olive Oil and raw shea butter, heat it together, and use it as my deep conditioner. Every time I wash my hair I like to deep condition it. Once my hair is washed and conditioned, I then use my leave in of choice and style.

Favorite Co-Washes:
Shea Moisture Coconut and Hibiscus Co-Wash
Pantene Naturals line Co-Wash

Favorite Conditioner:
Tresemme Naturals LOVE LOVE LOVE!

Favorite Deep Conditioners:
Anything from the Shea Moisture line (I love them all)
Aussie Moist 3 Minute Miracle

Favorite Leave in Conditioners:
As I Am Leave in Conditioner
Tresemme Naturals Conditioner (I do not completely wash it out, or I mix it with water in a spray bottle and use it like that)

Describe your favorite go-to hairstyle for days when you don’t have a lot of time to style.
My go to style is my puff. I wear it when my twist outs are no longer wearable. If I cowash my hair and don’t have time to style, if I work out; my puff is pretty much my best friend. I can always count on it for those busy days.

How do you combat shrinkage?
No matter how hard I try I cannot stop the shrinkage. Shrinkage is the reason why I do not wear wash and go’s. My hair will shrivel up and take away all of the length that I have worked so hard for. The best thing to do is just accept it and invest in a hair pick.

What are some of your problem areas (if any) that require special care and attention?
My hair tends to shed a lot. The ends of my curls require the most attention. I fix this problem by keeping them moisturized and paying extra attention to them.

What are 2 do’s for your texture?
My texture requires a lot of CONDITIONER. Conditioner is literally my best friend. It makes my hair easy to comb out and easy to manage. Provide love to your hair. People often ask how my hair grew so fast and all I can say is from day one I gave my hair the extra attention it needed to grow.

What are 2 don’ts for your texture?
The only don’t I can say I have for my hair is do not neglect it. My texture requires attention at least once a week.

Is there a blog/webpage where we can find you?

I love your confidense. i fnially did the big chop last night. did a little twist this morning and waited for it to dry. I went out in public and was waiting on crazy stares, but really didnt get any. My hair is about to the bottom of my chin with shrinkage. I work in a medical office which requires hair to be pulled up so I bought a ponytail to wear. I am 1 year in at this point, but just coulnt chop it all off. You hair is so beautiful and so are you. Love you confidence!

You are too sweet. Thank you so much for your kind words. I totally understand how you feel because the field I’m trying to get in the door to I often wonder how my hair will be accepted. People now think my hair is facinating or interesting smh. I have very thick hair and it’s grown to be big, but I know in a buisness setting I can’t just let it go freely like I wish I could. The best thing I can tell you is to OWN IT. :)

My hair twin!!!! Same length! Same textures! I wish you had a YouTube channel. But I love your hair routine. Conditioner. Conditioner & conditioner !

I rarely comment here but I just had to come by and say I loved this! Such a super cute chica! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your hair!

I lived most of my life in Spain (I’m from Barcelona) and I know pretty well Russia: these phtoos were taken in Spain (probably several years ago), for sure. Because of the kind of pavement on the street, kind of buiding, plate numbers on that Nissan Vanette, no russian cars parked around, shutters (bfblinds?) at the windows, green awnings in several balconies, easy fence around the buiding, and so on.

That really means alot! Thank you soo much

You are just too cute! I love the thickness and soft appearance of your hair.
