Funny you should post this…My hair shrinks about 20 percent tighter in the top of my head than in the rest of my head. Normally I do twists on dry stretched hair but this week I decided to twist my sides and back damp and leave my top until the end, when it was mostly dry. The result is a really cute asymmetrical twist style. The last time I BC’d I told the stylist to do a tapered TWA because of my shrinkage. I would love to embrace my shrinkage, but my 4c hair will not allow it. It only causes single strand knots and tangles that result in breakage and split ends! But these styles are cute.

Same here. My extremely tightly coiled 4c hair probably has the most shrinkage out of all hair types. And would give me terrible matting and knots and breakage if I never stretched it. Oh well…

sorry, somehow that wedge didn’t look quite right to me. I have a wedge and I just cut the back area a little and let it shrink, but I don’t mind losing length, so much.
