Introduce yourself!
E:
My name is Eki Ogunbor. I just completed my undergraduate degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Kent. I am currently in Lagos, Nigeria interning with Xclamations by Tomi Rotimi. I also run a fashion and lifestyle blog called The Chameleon Blogger.

What is your style philosophy?
E:
For me comfort is key. You look your best when you are confident and comfortable in what you’re wearing. Accessories also play an important part in my dressing, but I try not to over do it. Lastly, I believe it’s better to be overdressed than underdressed to an event, which is something I’ve learned from my mum over the years.

How would you describe your sense of style?
E:
I think my style is quite versatile. Some days I channel my inner tomboy, and the next I’m looking bohemian. Honestly, I just go with the flow and try to look good.

What is the process of deciding what to wear in the morning?
E:
Really the process begins the night before lol. Before I sleep, I make a mental picture of what I have in my closet and pick my options. The decision is eventually made in the morning, or sometimes I just re-rock an outfit, who cares!

What are the three favorite things in your closet?
E:
The number one thing would be scarves. They hide a multitude of bad hair days. Any scarf will do but I prefer my ankara print scarves, and I get those from my mum, love her. Next would be my American Apparel riding pants, honestly I could live in those. They fit really well and they are quite comfy as well. Somehow people always seem to think I’ve lost weight when I wear them, which is always good :) The last thing would have to be my black Alexander Wang Rocco Bag, it’s the perfect bag for me because it’s the right balance between an everyday bag and a statement bag as well.

What are some of your favorite shops/websites for clothes, shoes and accessories?
E:
Shops! I like Zara, Topshop, H&M, Net-A-Porter, Asos, Matches Fashion, Vintage/Thrift shops, Markets, Ebay… Honestly I can shop every and anywhere as long as I like what I see and it’s a reasonable price.

How long have you been natural?
E:
It’s been three years since my big chop.

How and why did you transition into natural hair?
E:
I first relaxed my hair when I was 13 and big chopped at 18. In the space of 5 years, I realized I didn’t have the patience to commit to a life of relaxers every now and then so I decided to go natural again. I also like big voluminous Diana Ross looking hair and going natural would give me the best of both worlds. I can rock my afro and still have straight hair with heat or a weave.

What is your signature hairstyle?
E:
My signature hairstyle is between the turban wrap with my scarves or the usual afro I wear either as a wash and go, twist out or a blow out.

Describe your styling regimen over the course of the month.
E:
I do a lot of protective styling for the most part of the month, either with braids, a weave or a wig. Before and after that I make sure my hair is washed with either Organix Nourishing Coconut Milk Shampoo or Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Shampoo, and properly conditioned with Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Conditioner (which I also use as a deep conditioner). I use a lot of oils such as coconut oil, castor oil, jojoba oil, olive oil and shea butter depending on what my hair needs. Sometimes I make a mixture of different oils and apply that instead, not forgetting eucalyptus oil, which helps with itching. When I feel my hair needs it, I deep condition with yogurt or mayonnaise, and sometimes do an apple cider vinegar rinse.

Is there a blog/webpage where we can find you?
E:
To know more about me you can visit my blog at www.thechameleonblogger.blogspot.com, though I don’t have any new updates due to recent priorities.

  1. I have a hair and style folder on my computer and she’s in it hahahahahaha, hair and style porn. She is too fly!!

  2. :’) such a simple regimen. Not sure of her hair type but it’s so thick and lush. I can’t imagine how I will ever simplify like this. I’m interested in eucalyptus for the scalp. I’ve tried tea tree oil but it doesn’t do anything for me.
