I absolutely love Downton Abbey! I've been into it since Season One and it's so amazing. I can't believe what they did to us this season! I don't want to say too much unless it's safe to talk here? 
If we can talk spoilers then let's discuss!

Ok, so I have to say that I'm beyond upset that Matthew died in that accident and I knew it was coming! I barely got over Sybil and now this?! 
It was just too much. I thought he was going to get shot when they were out hunting or Mary (can't stand her) was going to lose the baby. Things seemed to be going a little too weird that episode and something was bound to happen but wow. Just wow.

I'm with you. I had read that the actor who plays Matthew was leaving but I wasn't sure how they were going to take him out of the show. I was completely shocked, though strangely enough I also thought that when they were hunting something bad was about to happen.
I wasn't expecting Sybil to die so Matthew was just overkill (no pun intended). I was so glad that Mr. Bates finally got out of prisin and everything seemed to be finally happy for a few moments. I was expecting Mary to lose the baby, not Matthew.
I'm not sure how they're going to do Season 4 now that they've done this but I imagine that we'll all tune in anyway at least to see what happens.
With Mary's character, I think that she's changed a lot from who she was in Season 1 but she's still her father's daughter and she has that acid wit. She's also her grandmother's granddaughter and the Dowager Countess is a trip! She's probably my favorite character on the show and Maggie Smith plays her perfectly lol!

Yes the Dowager is too much she is always cracking me up. I said I was so done after all this drama, but I probably will watch when the new season comes out.
I was surprised that Bates actually got out, but I'm glad. I'm still trying to figure out exactly why he was there in the first place, but I really like him and Anna and hope nothing bad happens with them. It just always seems like something is bad is about to happen with them, I don't know.
I was so happy that all the drama with Thomas had calmed down. I felt so bad for him (horrible as he was) after what O'Brien had done to him with James. That lady is pure evil. The way she was talking, I wonder if she will leave and go work with Rose's mother?

I have a feeling that most fans were like "I'm done!" and I'm just as sure that all of us will watch the season premiere to see what they do and they know it lol.
To explain why Bates was in prison: He was married to a woman named Vera when he and Anna met though they were separated I think. Vera died and framed Mr. Bates for her death as revenge for him trying to move on and he was convicted.
Thomas is horrid but O'Brien is even worse and seeing her meet her "twin" was something else. I'm thinking she might leave to work for Rose's mom too.
You said you hadn't seen the 2nd season and I'm trying to remember if the really bad thing O'Brien did was in that season. You might ask your sisters because it really showed how evil she is.

Are you talking about when O'Brien made Lady Grantham lose her baby? I hope she can't get much more evil than that, but you never know..

I'm curious if Anna is gonna pick up on that at all? During the episode of the cricket match when Bates told her what he had whispered to O'Brien, it looked like she was going to. I hope she does. I would hate for her to just leave and and just skate from all the things she's done. I think O'Brien was dumb to even tell Thomas what she had done. Who shares something like that?!

I wondered the same thing about Anna finding out what O'Brien did. It seems like they did that for a reason. After killing two characters I would like to see some justice. Even Thomas slightly redeemed himself this season and he's a weasel!
Plus if O'Brien goes to work for Rose's mother, will she leave the show? I'm not sure what will happen there.

As much as I can't stand O'Brien, her character brings something to the show so I hope she does stay at least long enough for some type of resolution.

Oh yea, I totally agree about O'Brien; she's evil but that's the point and you can't help wondering if she'll get her comeuppance lol.

Oh my goodness! I just read an article saying that the actress who plays O'Brien is leaving the show! It was on People magazine's website. :(

I just saw that and was like wtf?! First Sybil, then Matthew, now Obrien!! Why?!?! I immediately text my sisters, cause this i all sorts of wrong! I just don't know how they can recover from all these exits
