@taimatsuko yes girl the blonde damaged my curl pattern to and Im struggling to get it back! Its in my plans to get a sew-in in a couple of weeks and keep it for a while just let my hair grow out some! Im excited I haven't worn extensions since I first went natural so wish me luck with that!

@Mona @crist_lite @YoAnaB718 …..and any other ladies going to the Dark and Lovely event tonight. I just saw an updated poster for the event and in the comments section, Nikki is saying that ppl can just show up and attend. So at this point I don't thing our RSVPing matters, we just have to get there early before they reach capacity.

Howdyo guys its me naturallyressie and im still moving forward with the protect your ends challenge. I still have my straight sew-in but i'm so ready to take it out. I feel like i can't take the best care of my hair thats needed. I really want tree braids if anyone knows a youtuber that can show me how to do tree braids (for natural hair of course) I would appreciate it. Thanks lots of <3

@taimatsuko thanks for the compliments. The Valentine do is very easy. Put the hair into a ponytail. Slit hair into two part and twirl them in opposite directions (towards face). Bring ends of hair together at the back and secure with rubber band, pins etc and voila…you have a heart.eusa_clap

@taimatsuko @carlyfanjaxfan thanks…I try to keep it simple.  @CANDACEBRIONNE thanks for the info.  I don't bun too often but when I do I do the flat twist n front so my hair isn't pulling tight.  My edges got bad from a too tight weave and some braids that were too tight also.  Haven't gotten braids or weavsince a and I say I never will again.  Now I'm just focusing on getting my edges back thick.

@CANDACEBRIONNE Thank you! How long is it? You only need enough to be able to do a pin curl sort of. I'm sure you could make it work

@Mona Thank you very much! It's really not that hard. I actually came up with it on accident one day just fiddling around with my hair. I think the best way to describe it is kind of pin curls. I just take a piece of hair and twist the end and pin it down with a bobby pin all over.

 @inteLEXual_  LOL yea the nicest styles always come when I'm just playing around with my hair. Can never reproduce it though when I plan too. cry

@Natural_Beauty how long is your hair? i'm asking because i really like the size/shape of your bun, the buns i do dont form as well because of the length

@crist_lite ….you didn't miss anything special. It was uneventful. The line was long, it was cold and there was really no real intro to the products (I wasn't interested in the products but still…). I think I would have been better served staying home shrug

@crist_lite I attached a pic of my hair freshly washed and the other side is a twist out on stretched hair.   u can see I have major shrinkage so the only way I can bun is on stretched hair.  I use a sock bun too… I just pull my hair in a ponytail then put the sock bun on then cover it with my hair…

Ohhhhhh, i completely forgot about the sock bun…i tried it once maybe two months ago and it kept showing but i probably just need a smaller one. but it def made the bun look so neat from what i can tell with your bun.  thanks though i'll have to give it another shot!

here is what I had in for the week. Next time I will probably do smaller twists so that I can have more of them and probably focus on the front so that I can try and get a pompadour type style next week. I twisted on a wash day and moisturized with Oyin pomade and hair dew to refresh

@crist_lite ….it wasn't all bad. It was great to be surrounded by so many naturals, the DJ was on point and it was a fun festive atmosphere. I met up with someone I met through this site last year so that was fun too. there was an open bar but the drinks weren't very good (my opinion) and as for product samples, at the end they had ppl hand out these sample packets that had like 0.5oz of product and each person got one to which I gave all kinds of side eye nope. I mean if you're launching a line, you want to have samples ppl can try. I would have been able to install no more than 5 or 6 twists in my head with the size of the sample packs. There wasn't any real education about the line. The product educator said some stuff for like a minute, they played a video and the rest was just drink and mingle. That was fine for a lot of ppl, I was just expecting a little more. And the event wasn't very long. they only had the space for 3 hours so by the time you got inside at 7 and tried to find a spot to sit/stand and maybe get a drink and get comfortable, it was already 7:30-8 and they started putting us out at a little before 9. Maybe my expectations were too high. I've been to worse meetups but I've also been to better.

well its great that you found some good points in the event, it must be hard to pull off the kind of intimacy your looking for in an event in NYC like them taking the time out to educate and give more to the attendees.  What events have you gone to that were better? I'd like to know so that I can keep a look out for them!

@nkfd thanks @crist_lite I bc'd nov 30, 2010 didn't transition.  My hair should be longer but I got my hair flat ironed when I hit 2 yrs and I was SUPPOSED to get a trim and she got scissor happy… Never again though you live and you learn and I've learned I need to learn how to trim my own hair.  I hadn't been in a shop in over 2 years n she chopped my hair.  I was so upset.  The crown area used to be the longest now it's the shortest… It's like she tried to do a layer cut.  So now I'm tryin to keep pressing n hopefully it will grow alot this year

@Natural_Beauty Ahh the story of the scissor happy stylist!! I can attest to that. Hair is a beauty by the way. When ever you do the sock bun again would like to see a pic of that.

@crist_lite love the little accessories.
