5 Go-To Summer Natural Hair Products For Under $10

• Jun 18, 2014

by Christine of Amor Artistry

As summer approaches, our hair routine is bound to change. For the most part, us naturals won’t be doing the same hairstyles as we did for the winter season, which only means it’s time to swap out certain products. Everyone loves a great product, but everyone loves a product that works great and isn’t expensive.

Ampro Pro Styl

Summer time is here! There is no better time to do a Wash N’ Go, and what better way to achieve it then by using this gel. Ampro Pro Styl gel is a dark brown so it can blend in better than the ones that leave a white buildup. You can easily get a 16oz jar for under $5!

Organix Coconut Water Conditioner

I am determined to put this conditioner “on the map”, this product is so underrated!  Although this season brings on humidity, you can still find your hair to be a bit on the dry side. This product hydrates the hair and makes it so soft which is ideal for dehydrated hair. You can get this product for just under $10!

Giovanni tea tree triple treat shampoo

The summer heat can take a toll on us and our hair. With all the products that we use to tame our hair during this season we can begin to experience build up. Giovanni Tea Tree Triple Treat Invigorating Shampoo has tea tree oil in it so it can really help with clearing out your scalp. This product is also only under $10!

TRESemme Naturals Nourishing Moisture Conditioner

We all are familiar with this product and if you haven’t heard of it do yourself the favor by adding it to your list the next time you go shopping. Tresemme Naturals Nourishing Moisture Conditioner is a great product! Its inexpensive, silicone free, and you get a ton of product for the price. For under $10 you can’t go wrong!
Eco Styler Gel

ECO STYLER-gel

This is another great gel that is inexpensive and works great! Eco styler gel will definitely keep your hairstyle in check. You can find this product almost anywhere and with it just being under $10 you won’t be disappointed!

Be sure to try out some of these products! Enjoy your fun in the sun while having a product in your hair care regimen that doesn’t stress out your pockets!

I’m ready to try some wash & god this summer. My hair isn’t perfect but I’m going to enjoy it. I’ll go to protective styling in the fall. I got the ecostyler gel (olive oil) for less than $3. I have crazy dry scalp and need to try the Giovanni tea tree treat. Do they sell it at WalMart or Target? I know Ulta is on the expensive side and don’t want to go there.

walmart has giovanni products — it just depends on the walmart in your neighborhood

I’m going to have to double check my local WalMart this weekend. Thanks! ????

That sounds like a good deal. I’ll try it out. I hope it works on my scalp. That’s my main concern. Thanks!

Giovanni is at Target in the natural beauty products aisle. Not located with the rest of the urban hair care products.

VO5 Moisture Milk. $1.79…

I’ll do you $.79 better. All of the VO5 conditioners are only $1.00 at your local Dollar Store. For those who like to swim (pool) like me, the VO5 makes an excellent clarifying kiwi conditioner

I will have been doing mini (small) twisting for the past two months and will continue doing so thru out the summer. It too hot to be doing my hair daily or weekly.

Trader joe’s 16 oz. tea tree tingle shampoo is a great alternative to the Giovanni tea tree triple treat… nd it’s about 4 dollors… that’s what I’m using 🙂

Brown Pro Styl gel?! Thought I was having a High School flashback from the 90’s. That stuff reminds me of fingerwaves w/scrunchies lol.
I’m almost done with my Giovanni Tea Tree conditioner so I’ll probably buy the shampoo and conditioner this summer. Love the conditioner.

The brown Ampro gel is my go to styling gel. Went through tons of gels including various types of Eco styling gel and they just made my hair hard and dry. Ampro works like a charm for me. The fact that it is so cheap, is a bonus.

@Bridget J.…I agree Eco Styling Gel left my hair hard and with flakes, I hated it! If u have TWA & can wash daily fine but if u dont just know u will have to wash you hair after using it.

I’m already a big fan of Eco Styler Gel and Tresemme Naturals Conditioner. I’m curious to try out Giovanni’s or VO5’s products now

With the humidity showing up big time already, and since gel just does not do anything good to my hair at all, I have found that the Taliah Waajid Curl Cream helps a lot with keeping my hair elongated without tangling. I’m going to increase my deep conditioning sessions to weekly and continue to incorporate the new Shea Moisture Raw Shea curl defining cream, which while it doesn’t define my curls, kept my hair moisturized a whole work week after only one application.

Even with the curl cream my hair stays moisturized and soft. I love love love that stuff!!! I avoided her products for years and recently took the plunge just to find out they work best for my hair

IMO Taliah Waajid protective mist bodifier and curly curl cream is the best products for a wash and go…they are both under $10… The lock it up gel works magic too! I’m about to braid mine up for the summer tho…happy shopping ladies!

I can’t believe ProStyle gel was recommended. That dries out my hair so badly! Does it work well for anyone on here??? Tresemme is excellent and works just as well as other natural products that are expensive

I heard that ProStyl gel works best with a hair oil to keep it from drying. I call it “ghetto gel” but hey if it works it works.

Eco gel didn’t like my hair at all. Just tried Xtreme gel 33oz @ 3.99 at my local beauty supply store. Can I say I’m in love! Behind my flaxseed and aloe vera gel, Xtreme is my new staple.

Nutress Hair products are great! My hair remained soft and moisturized throughout the summer. They have also helped me a lot when my hair was damaged. And they are very cheap ! 🙂
