No One Showed Up To My Meetup… So I Made This Video Instead

• Oct 21, 2017

When I tell you that the bar for what counts as ‘embarrassing’ in my life is super high now (I mean, especially after this.) I am the master of making lemonade out of lemons, and I had to do it a few weeks back when I threw a ‘grand opening meetup’ for my shop in Bed Stuy… that no one showed up to.

I had my snacks from Costco, and a videographer I’d already paid $150.

We small talked for a few moments, as I glanced at the door. About 15 minutes in I was like, “Aright, no one’s coming. Want to get some pics and video?”

I opened the doors and it turned out that we had a heavy sales day. While I interacted with customers, my videographer started shooting and I reaaaally love the video she did.

I am sorry no one arrived to your meet up. Please do not let this discourage you — if any of your subscribers are like me (huge fan living in London) you will have a lot of people that would have liked to be there.

Awww chica! Your store is gorgeous and it is a great video too. I think publicity is all that was missing because if I lived in NYC, I would have been there, 8 month pregnant belly, toddler and reluctant husband in tow! Nothing to be embarrassed about at all, the lemonade turned out really great!

I love how you turned it around. I’ve had the same thing happen to me. At first, I thought, do they hate my products, did I get it wrong? Like you, I decided to make lemonade (spiked). I’m a few years past that point, and I’m so happy I had the fortitude to stick it out. Best to you!

When the line outside your store wraps arounds the corner (visualize!), you can them serve cups of lemonade remembering the days of hustle and struggle. Words of encouragement from my devotional several days ago: “As you go about your work, perseverance is essential. if you start to grow weary or discouraged, remind your self: “I get to do this!” Then thank Me {Jesus}for giving you the ability and strength to do what needs to be done. Thankfulness clears your mind and draws you close to Me. Remember that my Spirit who lives in you is the Helper; ask Him to… Read more »
